🚀 Reflecting on the past six months working with BabyBlue IT Consulting

Over the last six months, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with BabyBlue IT Consulting as part of a paid work experience placement alongside my studies at Kimberley College.
During my time with BabyBlue, I worked closely with Lee Bailey and Chris Smith to develop a new website using modern frameworks like Next.js and Sanity Studio. The challenge was to build something that wasn’t just fast and responsive but also user-friendly for the team to manage and update themselves — a balance I’m proud to have achieved.
Beyond the website, I also set up their CRM system using Zoho Bigin, enabling the team to track customer renewals and better manage their marketing outreach. I helped configure Microsoft 365 for their company emails, making sure everything ran smoothly on the back end.
This experience taught me valuable skills in web development, CRM setup, and IT solutions, as well as problem-solving and communication — key skills I’ll take forward as I work towards a career in software engineering.
A huge thank you to Lee, Chris, and the BabyBlue team for trusting me with these projects and giving me such a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in IT services.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep building my skills and exploring new opportunities. My next step? Pursuing a degree apprenticeship in software engineering.
