Welcome Chris Fenn to the Baby Blue team!

We’re proud to officially welcome Chris Fenn to the Baby Blue team as a Senior IBM i Technical Consultant.
Chris brings with him over three decades of hands-on experience in IBM Power Systems and the IBM i platform. He began his career in Mainframe Systems Programming before moving into the AS/400 space in the early '90s. Since then, he’s become a well-known and respected expert across the IBM i community, with senior roles at organisations including IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Infosys, Virgin Money, and many others.
At Baby Blue, Chris is one of the key technical experts powering our 3rd Party IBM i Legacy Software Maintenance offering—helping customers extend the life of critical IBM i applications with confidence.
Chris is also available for hands-on consultancy work to help customers:
- Evaluate, rationalise, and automate their IBM i environments
- Conduct security reviews and implement best practices
- Plan and execute patching and updates across hardware and software
- Provide technical backup to internal teams, whether for holiday cover, sickness, or resource gaps
- Contribute to short or long-term projects ranging from 1 to 24 months—whether full-time or just a few days each week or month
With deep technical experience in areas like high availability, disaster recovery, large-scale LPAR management, performance tuning, and infrastructure modernisation, Chris is perfectly positioned to support both routine operations and major transformation initiatives.
He remains an active member of the i-UG community and continues his long-standing work with leading IBM i-focused organisations.
